• Wolf Creek Landfill is a MSW landfill that was designed by Bill Hodges, P.E., built by Twiggs County, and expanded by Advanced Disposal in 2006. It currently accepts approximately 2,500 tons per day. Waste is delivered to the landfill by both direct haul and transfer trailer loads and is buried every day in compliance with the approved Department of Natural Resources (DNR) operating plan. The landfill is permitted to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with no tonnage cap. At current tonnage, the landfill has capacity until 2030. The landfill has a very strong environmental record. All DNR inspection scores since 2009 have been 90 or higher.
• Wolf Creek Landfill has a 2,800 kilowatt landfill gas-to-energy facility that provides significant environmental benefits to the surrounding areas by voluntarily capturing the landfill gas produced at the facility and utilizing it as a fuel to produce green energy. The environmental benefits are equivalent to removing 22,700 passenger vehicles from area highways while providing electricity to power 1,650 homes. This is possible because of our partnership with Oconee EMC and Green Power EMC.
• The facility has current disposal contracts with Twiggs and Wilkinson Counties and accepts waste from Advanced Disposal subsidiaries and multiple third party haulers.
